As Saviour Empowerment CIC reaches two months of community development, we are looking forward with gratitude, hope and a growing vision.
One of the programmes we are beginning to plan will support people with special abilities and the parents and carers who stand beside them every day.
The proposed programme, Special Abilities Parents, will create opportunities to celebrate children and adults with disabilities or additional needs while also recognising the extraordinary contribution of their families and carers.
The programme will focus on strengths rather than limitations. We want to celebrate:
- Individual gifts and talents
- Unique abilities and potential
- Personal achievements and progress
- Creativity, communication and different ways of learning
- The dedication of parents and carers
- Family resilience and lived experience
- Inclusion, dignity and belonging
We are considering whether activities should be delivered as one-off events, quarterly gatherings or a more regular programme. Sessions may include peer support, practical information, confidence-building, digital support, inspirational speakers, creative activities and opportunities for parents and carers to connect.
We understand that caring for someone with additional needs can be deeply rewarding, but it can also involve isolation, exhaustion and difficulty finding appropriate support. Families deserve a welcoming environment where they are respected, heard and encouraged.
This week also marks an exciting transition. Saviour Empowerment CIC will officially resume activities from the VCAT Shared Space Initiative on 28 September 2026.
Alongside our forthcoming meeting with the Urmston Volunteer Coordinator, our new location and developing programme ideas give us confidence that a promising future lies ahead.
We are thankful for how far we have come in two months. We remain committed to our God First principle and to serving our community with integrity, inclusion, excellence and compassion.
The journey is still young, but the vision is growing stronger.
